Partial Formula Monitored Meal Plan
This program forms the basis of your plan if you wish to lose 20 pounds or more and have no serious medical complications related to your weight. with this program you can expect a gradual weight loss of 1 to 3 pounds a week.
The reduced-calorie meal plan including 3 formulas a day uses a proven stimuli-narrowing approach. This is accomplished by limiting the amount of food that has to be chosen each day by including formulas / meal replacements.
The program consists of 20 weeks of treatment in the following phases:
- Pre-assessment / Step Down Week (Week 1): EKG & Labs drawn Meet with Registered Dietitian to establish meal plan for 20 weeks
- Welcome and Introduction (Week 2): MD visit for physical. Labs and EKG checked. Behaviorist meeting scheduled
- Active Weight Loss (Weeks 2-13): During the active weight loss, food intake will be limited to 3 formulas a day. The clinic meets Thursday from 5:30-8:00 p.m. and involves: -monitoring and lab work -physician visits -group sessions -gym workout
- Transition (Weeks 14-20): During the transition phase, food is gradually increased and the formula is gradually discontinued. Nutrition education is the focus of the weekly group sessions. The clinic will continue to meet from 5:30-8:00 p.m. and involves the same components as the active weight loss phase, including an exit interview with the program behaviorist.
- Ongoing Maintenance: Weight loss can continue during maintenance which meets Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and involves regular group sessions and individual behaviorist sessions (if requested). This part of the program is crucial for long term success. This phase provides continued training and group support as you practice the skills you have learned and travel down the road of success.
If you have attended 16 sessions of the 32 maintenance classes during the first year, you will be an ongoing member at no charge for as long as you keep attending 50% annually.
